In this space, I want to share many things with you. What inspires me, the materials I use and why I choose them, my color palettes, how my creative process works, how I nurture it, and much more. 

In this very first post, I want to share my favorite art supplies. The ones I always go back to and feel like my safe zone 😊. With them, I feel I can complete each illustration beautifully, and to me, they’re part of a set. Without one of them, something feels missing, the flow changes. I think I’ve grown very fond of them ♥. 

I start by choosing my sketchbook. I like working with several at the same time, but my current favorite is the Strathmore 500 Series Mixed Media Art Journal (100% cotton). The paper has a smooth texture, and it handles multiple layers of washes with no problem. Next comes the selection of mediums, normally I use watercolor or gouache, and then I add colored pencils and small touches with watercolor crayons. 

Here are my preferred brands: 

• Sketchbook: Strathmore 500 Series Mixed Media Art Journal (100% cotton). 

• Watercolor: Holbein, Winsor & Newton, Daniel Smith, Van Gogh, and White Nights. 

• Gouache: Holbein, Winsor & Newton, and Caran d’Ache 

• Colored pencils: Caran d’Ache Luminance 6901, Derwent Drawing and Prismacolor Premier. 

• Watercolor crayons: Caran d’Ache Neocolor II.

En este espacio quiero compartirte muchas ideas, por ejemplo, las cosas que me inspiran, los materiales que uso y por qué son mis elegidos, mis paletas de color, cómo es mi proceso creativo, cómo nutrirlo y demás. 

En esta, mi primera entrada, te quiero compartir mis materiales favoritos. Son a los que siempre recurro y mi zona segura 😊. Con ellos siento que complemento muy bien cada ilustración y para mi forman parte de un combo y sin uno de ellos algo falta, no fluyo igual, creo que les tengo demasiado cariño ♥. 

Inicio seleccionando mi cuaderno de bocetos, me gusta trabajar con varios a la par, pero mi favorito hasta el momento es el Strathmore 500 series Mixed Media Art Journal (100% algodón) el papel tiene una textura suave y sin problema se pueden trabajar varias capas de pintura, lo siguiente es la selección de los medios, normalmente utilizo acuarela o gouache, para después aplicar lápices de colores y pequeños toques de crayones acuarelables.
